Akufo-Addo sacks SSNIT boss, replaces him with Osafo-Maafo’s son
President Nana Akufo-Addo has sacked Dr John Ofori Tenkorang from his position as Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
Dr. Tenkorang has been directed to transfer his responsibilities to Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo, SSNIT's Deputy Director-General for Investments, by Monday, April 15th.
Subsequently, Mr. Osafo-Maafo has ascended to the role of SSNIT's Director-General.
A letter signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, communicated the managerial changes at SSNIT.
“Reference is made to your appointment letter dated 1st July 2019, issued by the Public Services Commission. In accordance with paragraph 8 of the said appointment letter, I regret to inform you that the President has terminated your appointment effective 15th April 2024 with three months’ salary in lieu of notice”, the letter said.
“You are directed to hand over your office to Mr Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo and proceed to collect any terminal benefits you may be entitled to”, the letter added.
