Alan Kyerematen launches Business Resource Centres
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Alan Kyerematen, on Monday, 27 June 2022, officially launched the Business Resource Centres (BRCs) as a franchise of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
The ceremony was held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The BRCs are a one-stop enterprise support centre at the district level designed to provide a broad range of Business Development Services (BDS) to potential and existing entrepreneurs and enterprises.
The BRCs have been established by the Ministry of Trade and Industry through the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP).
Around the country, 37 BRCs have been established in various districts and are fully operational.
Thirty more BRCs are currently at various stages of construction.
The BRCs are managed and operated under a franchise arrangement.
To regularise the arrangement, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between GEA as the franchisor and REP, the franchisee.
The ceremony, which was also used to mark the World MSME Day, brought together about 1,000 entrepreneurs.
