Ato Forson demonstrates a profound understanding of the economy - Steve Manteaw
The Co-chair of the Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (GHEITI),Dr Steve Manteaw, has commended Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Finance Minister-designate for his in-depth understanding of the Ghanaian economy.
According to him, Dr Ato Forson impressed the public with his detailed responses to economic questions, outlining his vision for fiscal stability and growth.
In a Facebook post, Steve Manteaw praised Dr Forson’s grasp of economic challenges and his proposed solutions.
According to Manteaw, the Finance Minister-designate demonstrated a clear awareness of the intricacies of Ghana's economy and offered pragmatic approaches to tackling issues such as inflation, public debt, and revenue mobilisation.
Manteaw highlighted how Dr Forson’s responses during the vetting process reflected his expertise and deep understanding of the subject matter.
“His analysis of the economic challenges facing Ghana and his well-thought-out strategies to address them were both impressive and reassuring,” Manteaw noted in his post, adding that such competence is vital for restoring investor confidence and fostering economic recovery.
Dr Ato Forson’s vetting session covered a wide range of topics, including his plans to stabilise the cedi, enhance fiscal discipline, and create jobs.
His performance has been widely regarded as a strong indicator of his readiness to take on the critical role of Finance Minister at a time when Ghana faces significant economic challenges.
