BOST Margin tax component of petrol price build-up increased by 100%
Beginning Monday, 1 June 2020, Ghanaians will be paying more for fuel at the various filling stations as the government has increased a tax component on petroleum products.
A statement by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) said the hitherto 3 pesewas per litre BOST Margin in the price build-up of petroleum products, has been hiked by 100 per cent to six pesewas.
The hike, according to the NPA, “is in line with a decision taken by Cabinet and communicated to the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) by the Ministry of Energy”.
The 3 pesewas BOST Margin has been unchanged for nine years.
