The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr Godwin Kudzo Tamekloe Esq., has highlighted the Authority’s pivotal role in promoting sustainable development during the 77th Annual New Year School and Conference.

Speaking on the theme, “Building the Ghana We Want Together for Sustainable Development,” Mr Tamekloe outlined the NPA’s ongoing efforts to support the nation’s economic growth by ensuring the availability of quality and affordable petroleum products. He emphasised that a reliable fuel supply is critical for powering industries, businesses, and households across the country.

He noted that the Authority remains committed to maintaining fair pricing and upholding regulatory compliance within the downstream petroleum sector. According to Mr Tamekloe, these measures are aligned with the government’s reset agenda, which seeks to stabilise the energy market while protecting consumer interests.

“Our focus is on ensuring that Ghanaians have access to petroleum products that are both safe and affordable,” he said. “By regulating the sector effectively, we aim to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and economic resilience.”

Mr Tamekloe further stressed that the NPA continues to engage stakeholders across the petroleum value chain to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and accountability. He said these efforts are designed to create a downstream petroleum sector that can support long-term growth while advancing Ghana’s broader development objectives
