W/R markets to be closed down on Monday for disinfection
All markets in the Western Region will be disinfected and fumigated on Monday, 6 April 2020.
This follows a similar exercise carried out in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.
Private waste management company Zoomlion Ghana is expected to undertake the disinfection and fumigation exercise in collaboration with the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) and the Municipal and Metropolitan District Assemblies (MMDAs).
The markets will be locked down at 12 noon on Sunday, 5 April to enable preparatory works to be put in place by the National Fire Service.
The disinfection exercise will begin at 5 am on Monday.
