2025 TGMAs: I’d permanently leave Kumasi if King Paluta doesn't lift Artiste of the Year trophy – MC Portfolio

If King Paluta does not win Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), MC Portfolio has said he would relocate permanently to the national capital Accra, abandoning his beloved Ashanti Regional Capital Kumasi.
The popular entertainment pundit and master of ceremonies spoke to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, highlighting his passion and dedication to making artistes from the Ashanti Region nationally recognised.
“I want to be there for the Asante Kingdom and that’s why I have not relocated to Accra yet despite the many offers. So I’d be tempted. I’ve done all there needs to be done, and if this is the time to reward the gentleman, and you don’t, I would have to move,” he said.
“I’d like to thank everyone but I know you know King Paluta hijacked the Ghana music ecosystem in 2024,” he added.
The hypeman argued Paluta’s Aseda was the only legitimate Telecel Most Popular Song, too.
“Anything popular [for the year under review] is from King Paluta. You can’t tell me there is a Ghanaian song that was bigger than Aseda on the internet and on the ground. He gave the award scheme a headache because every big song came from one artiste and so they did not know which of his songs to choose for the Most Popular Song of the Year category,” MC Portfolio said.
