2Baba invites fans to boycott his music brand as punishment for his marital infidelity

2Face, formerly known as 2Face, proposed to Annie on Valentine’s Day at Jay Jay Okocha’s Club 10 in Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2012

Nigerian music icon 2Baba in the cause of rendering an unqualified apology to his family and management for infidelity and “embarrassment” has indicated he’s fine with being cancelled by his fans.

Cancelling is when consumers or fans suddenly and completely boycott an artist or product as a punitive measure for a conduct they deem unacceptable.

On Monday, 8 August, 2022, in a lengthy Instagram post, the singer wrote, "Las Las. This is no stunt. I'm sorry for all the embarrassment I've caused my wife, my kids, my mother and all our families and my management team. I'm not looking for no sympathy I'm not trying to make myself look good. This is no reverse psychology [manure]

"I simply just don't want to be the one that always apologise. I've been a [messy] father and a [messy] husband and [messy] baby daddy. I have no excuses. I just want to do right by my wife, and my kids and their moms and my mom and all families and my manager and friends."

Born Innocent Ujah Idibia, he stated he’s ready to be cancelled by music fans, “I beg y'all to pls just face me and cancel me anyhow. I've been a star for so long that my bulletproof vest is worn-out. I'm not quitting or suicidal or giving up."

"I just want to go back to my default settings and denounce my role model status and make up lost time with my kids and give y'all music that will make u remember and understand why they call me 2BABA #GRATEFUL."

In September 2021, his wife Annie Macaulay gave tongue over her husband’s unusual relationship with one of his so-called baby mamas, Pero.

In March 2022, on the Netflix series ‘Young, Famous and African’, Mrs. Idibia also bemoaned, even though the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker met her first, their first child happened to be his fifth.

He’d been a notoriously unfaithful and this brought with it ‘a storm in paradise’.

The marital turmoil came to public notice when the news carried stories of the singer having five children with two women named Pero Adeniyi and Sumbo Ajala after his Tuesday 1 May 2012 marriage to his wife Annie.

Recently, on Instagram, Annie unfollowed 2Baba and his family prompting the social media rumour mill of looming divorce and this after speculations he’s reunited with Pero and her children and in the United States of America.

Annie Macaulay has also accused 2Baba’s family of showing no affection towards her but rather frustrating their union for its entire span.

Annie Macaulay and Idibia have been married for ten years and have two daughters: Isabella and Olivia.
