Award-winning gospel singer Celestine Donkor has expressed confidence that her contribution to Ghana’s music industry earns her a place among the country’s most influential artists.

Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM, the gospel performer reflected on her long journey in music, explaining that staying active and impactful for about two decades is not something she takes lightly.

According to her, the demands of her music career have required major sacrifices over the years.

At one point, she ventured into the food business and even started a restaurant, but eventually had to shut it down because her schedule in music made it difficult to manage the business properly.

She explained that frequent travel and the time required for her ministry made it nearly impossible to supervise the venture effectively.

In the end, she decided to focus fully on music rather than struggle to balance both responsibilities.

Despite the challenges, the gospel singer said she feels grateful to still be relevant after many years in the industry.

She noted that when conversations come up about the most impactful musicians in Ghana, her name deserves recognition because of the consistency and influence of her work.

Beyond popularity, she emphasised that the real reward of her career is the effect her songs have on people.

According to her, many listeners connect spiritually with her music, using it during prayer and worship, which she describes as a blessing and motivation to keep going.
