Faila’s magnificent cooking marathon also bites the dust

Another Ghanaian attempt at Guinness World Records glory has been marked unsuccessful.
Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak cooked for 227 hours, across 10 days, starting from the first day of 2024. Her aim was to break Alan Fisher’s 119-hour-57-minute GWR cooking marathon record set in November 2023.
Faila’s unwavering verve in the cooking booth, supported by chef Eric, stunned her live audience at the Modern City Hotel, Tamale, Northern Region, and her virtual audience, local and global.
Sunday, March 3, 2024, however, the news broke that Faila’s “attempt falls short”.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by media star Kafui Dey, who was identified as the coordinator in Faila’s team.
Essentially, the statement expressed abundant gratitude for the overwhelming support Faila received from fellow citizens, state officials, the media, and Corporate Ghana, among others.
It was also revealed, more importantly, Faila’s attempt bit the dust because of “a violation of the rest break rules”.
Faila’s news comes after Asantewaa Aduonum also failed to break the 105-hour record for the longest singing marathon (individual). She performed at the Akwaaba Village, Airport City, Accra, for five days from December 24, 2023.
Currently, Millennium Chef Smith has cooked for 32 days, attempting to break Alan Fisher’s record.
