Family, friends mark 8th anniversary of Ebony Reigns’ passing with emotional visit to her grave
Family members and close friends of late Ghanaian dancehall star Ebony Reigns gathered at the Osu Cemetery in Accra on February 8, 2026, to commemorate eight years since her untimely passing.
Ebony Reigns, born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, died in a car accident on February 8, 2018, at the peak of her music career, a loss that shook the entire nation and left fans heartbroken.
Leading the memorial visit was her father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, popularly known as Starboy Kwarteng, alongside her mother, Beatrice Oppong, and other relatives.
The family paid their respects at her tomb with prayers, the laying of a wreath, and moments of reflection as they remembered her life and achievements.
The atmosphere was filled with emotion as loved ones shared memories of Ebony and the impact she made through her music and vibrant personality.
Some family members were visibly moved to tears during the ceremony, highlighting the deep pain that remains years after her death.
Videos from the visit, showing touching and heartfelt scenes at the graveside, have since circulated widely on social media, with many fans also expressing their love and continuing admiration for the late singer.
Though gone, Ebony Reigns’ legacy continues to live on through her hit songs and the lasting mark she left on Ghana’s music industry.
