Family mourns KODA's 'sudden departure' with a website
A website has been set up for the mourning of the Gospel virtuoso Kofi Owusu Dua-Anto (KODA).
The site, kodamemorial.com, operatored by KODA's family has an official statement concerning the musician's "sudden departure".
The statement revealed the families in mourning: "The Dua-Anto family, Ewurama Dua-Anto with the Osae and Dankwa families, and all the allied families".
It confirmed the Contemporary Gospel legend died on Sunday, April 21, 2024, but without being specific said the cause of death was "a brief illness".
Although left "sorrowful and devastated," the family appreciated "the outpouring of love and support from contemporaries, friends, fans, and loved ones".
"As we grapple with the shock and grief of this loss, we humbly request privacy during this profoundly challenging time to heal and mourn as a family," the family also asked.
It notified the public the innovative website will be updated with information "on his memorial and funeral arrangements".
KODA's family asserted his "legacy will endure, resonating throughout eternity".
A text from Revelations, the last book of the Bible, concluded the statement: "Blessed are the dead,
those who die in the Lord from this moment on!
""Yes,” says the Spirit, "so they can rest from their hard work, because their deeds will follow them.""
KODA was a multiple award-winning singer-songwriter, composer, record producer, sound engineer and multi-instrumentalist who lived and worked in Takoradi, Western Region. His music and influence contributed to the start and establishment of the Contemporary Gospel phenomenon.
