From Heart to Hymn: Gospel veteran Stella Seal highlights faith and devotion over popularity
During a live worship session on No.1 FM hosted by Taller Dee, gospel artist Stella Aba Seal, shared insights on what it truly takes to thrive in gospel music and ministry.
Stella emphasised that success in gospel artistry starts with a deep, genuine desire to serve God, rather than a competitive mindset or the pursuit of popularity. “It’s not about looking down on others or becoming famous.
If you pray and dedicate yourself to God with a sincere heart, He honors that desire,” he said.
The artist explained that God uses both the mindset and motive behind our efforts. When the desire is pure, doors begin to open — whether it’s finding a helper or creating a song that unexpectedly resonates with many.
He encouraged aspiring artists not to give up, stressing that God works in His own timing.
“There’s a cycle to how God works. If the time is not right, pulling or forcing things won’t succeed. But when the time comes, even small efforts can make a big impact,” he added.
Stellla also highlighted the importance of quiet reflection in prayer.
He reminisced about his younger days when churchgoers would spend 10 minutes in complete silence after praying to listen to God, a practice he believes is now largely neglected.
“If we have spoken to God, why can’t we also give Him space to speak to us?” he questioned, urging believers to incorporate stillness and attentiveness into their worship.
She urges aspiring gospel artists to focus on sincere devotion, prayer, and God’s timing over competition and fame and GOD imself will lift them with no time.
