Ghana Tourism Authority CEO welcomes Africa to Accra for Creative Africa Connect Conference
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, has extended a warm “Akwaaba” to tourism and creative industry leaders from across the continent at the Creative Africa Connect Conference in Accra.
Her welcome set the tone for a gathering focused on collaboration, innovation, and the advancement of Africa’s cultural and creative industries.
Mrs. Houadjeto’s remarks highlighted Ghana’s reputation for hospitality and its commitment to driving continental partnerships that strengthen the tourism and creative economy.
She underscored the importance of unity in telling Africa’s stories and enhancing the visibility of its cultural assets on the global stage.
Joining her at the event was Mrs. Mpume Mabuza, President and Chairperson of AAVEA and a Pan-African Curator of Culture and Creativity based in Los Angeles, USA. Her participation reinforced the growing global alliances shaping Africa’s cultural and creative future.
The Creative Africa Connect Conference serves as a continental platform aimed at removing barriers, fostering collaboration, and amplifying the contributions of Africa’s creative and tourism sectors.
Organisers noted that the initiative is expected to help position African talent, destinations, and cultural narratives more competitively on the international market.
