IShowSpeed announces donation campaign after closing African tour, reflects on Ghanaian roots
US internet personality IShowSpeed has revealed plans to launch a donation campaign to support local communities in Africa, following the conclusion of his African tour in Namibia. The streamer made the announcement after reflecting on the warm reception he received during his travels.
“Everybody was just giving me love. I genuinely felt love,” IShowSpeed said. “I'm thinking about giving back to the communities that showed me this much love. I will be launching a donation campaign to support local organisations and people in some of the places I visited. More details will come soon on that.”
IShowSpeed’s tour included a visit to Ghana, where he officially received a Ghanaian passport after confirming his connection to the country through his mother’s lineage. During his stay, he was also honoured with a traditional name, Barima Kofi Akuffo, in a ceremony in the Eastern Region.
In Namibia, the streamer underscored his African identity by holding up a white piece of paper reading “100% African” during one of his appearances.
The announcement of the donation campaign signals IShowSpeed’s intention to leverage his global platform to provide tangible support to the communities that welcomed him throughout his African tour.
