KODA: Gospel virtuoso dead
Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, alias KODA, has died at 45.
A Gospel star, he had hits such as Guide Me, Hosanna, Nsem Pii, etc.
The singer-songwriter was also a record producer and multi-instrumentalist.
According to Gospel star Pastor Nii Okai, KODA had been treated for a kidney disease and was doing fine until he passed in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024.
The influential musician lived and worked in Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region.
The multiple award-winning musician produced music for the late Danny Nettey, Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Eugene Zuta, Calvis Hammond, among others.
While studying at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ashanti Region, KODA recorded the 2003 hit Awurade Ei with God's Instruments (GI) National Union of Baptist Students (NUBS) KNUST.
His family is yet to publicly speak concerning his demise.
