Lasmid explains why he quit rapping
Ghanaian star singer-songwriter Lasmid has explained why he ceased rap music.
He spoke to Sammy Brown on the Akwaaba Show on Accra 100.5 FM.
“Rap sells commercially but everyone has their unique vibe,” Lasmid said.
“I’m someone who is inquisitive and likes to dabble in different things. I don’t like standing at one side. If it’s critical, I can even do Hiphop, Reggae, Asorkpor, and everything else. I love learning.
“This is why I switched from rap to singing.”
The serial hitmaker continued: “Also, I was doing Highlife with the singing, initially, but I decided to learn how to do Afrobeats in addition.
“I’m still learning.”
“I have quit rap but I have also not quit it – as they say an exorcised witch knows how to still scare the children,” the Friday Night hitmaker said.
“I still remember some of my rap verses but I often get stumped at a point when I try to perform them.”
