Ohemaa Mercy full of praise for Church of Pentecost's transformative culture of discipline

Gospel star Ohemaa Mercy has underlined the transformative power of the discipline the Church of Pentecost (CoP) instils in its members.
She indicated being part of this Christian denomination "right from my childhood" greatly benefitted her.
“Church of Pentecost is one of the churches that understands discipline,” she noted.
She explained, “The reason is the kind of teachings they will take you through.”
Mercy emphasised how seriously the church took raising their members “with the word of God”.
She said this tradition instilled in members “the fear of God” and resulted in “excellence in how one leads their life”.
Ohemaa Mercy was recounting her days in Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region.
The multiple award-winning singer noted, “One thing that shook me greatly was the death of Elder [Akwasi] Mireku’s father,” Elder Emmanuel F. Kofi Mireku, who died at 105-years-old in 2024.
“Because he was the source of my strength. Sometimes, when I am discouraged, I would ran to this father mine, who would put me on his lap and pray with me, and comfort me.”
“Anytime I meet Elder Mireku, I remember his father,” she said.
The Mireku's are prominent Church of Pentecost figures, with Elder Akwasi Mireku being a Gospel icon, beloved for his comforting and uplifting spiritual songs utilised even in denominations beyond the CoP.
