The hard work of female artistes is usually not duly recognised, singer Sefa has bemoaned.

The music star sat with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, Thursday, October 24, 2024.

“They reduce you to – just like a particle,” she said, commenting on how the industry sees females in music.

She worried women were mainly regarded for their sex appeal, when, in her opinion, they have more to offer.

“They don’t care about the hard work, the investment you’ve put in [etc]. I think that’s what female artistes face now,” the Fever hitmaker said.

She observed the promotion of female artistes in the media, “even though not yet [at its optimal],” is “getting better” with time.

She called for more “investments” for she and her female mates in music.

Formerly with D-Black's Black Avenue Muzik (BAM), Sefa is currently an independent artiste, even though she is “very open” to record label proposal.
