Singer Maddy Maznaz has opened up about her latest release: ‘Till Morning Comes’.

She spoke in an exclusive interview with Class News’ Prince Benjamin (PB).

According to the fashionista, the Fimfim-produced Afropop number was created “in the season” when she was “listening to artistes like Sean Kingston, Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg, Luca Days, Shenseea, Spice, Tyla”.

Regularly called Magdalene Combarieu, she revealed two artistes initially came to her mind as star guests for Till Morning Comes. She, however, settled for Highlife star Bisa Kdei, and explained her choice.

“When the song came to me, at the studio recording it and everything, it just felt right – I could just see him on it. It was either him or King Promise. But Bisa’s energy was stronger because we have, like, a natural bond. We have friendship already deeper than King Promise’s. So I was saying to myself, okay, it’s a love song, you know.  The one who could embody it and represent it in a way that I wanted was Bisa because at that time… [chuckles]. Yeah, so that’s it. I thought Bisa was the perfect person to embody and carry that song because of our connection,” Maddy Maznaz said.

“It was easy to secure the verse, it was so easy. I DM’d Bisa and I told him about it. And he [readily] asked me to send it to him. And I sent it to him. It was very, very easy,” she added.

The star celebrity stylist gushed over Bisa Kdei verse for its honesty.

She also stressed though Till Morning Comes is “a love song” for romantic partners, it is equally one that celebrates nonsexual relationships, exemplified by what she and her collaborator share.

“I like the truth about his verse, you know. Everything he was saying in the lyrics is true, you know, it’s genuine and not concocted. We know each other, we love each other, we are good friends. So, that’s what makes this song very special because it’s not fake, you know. It’s not like just writing a song to just write a song, you know. It’s meant to carry truth and show something deeper than just lyrics. It’s to project friendship, it’s to project female and male friendship; that you can have a male friend that you love so much that it’s not necessarily sexual. You just love that man or woman so much, irrespective of their sex,” Maddy Maznaz gleefully pointed out.

“The video will come out very, very, very, very soon,” Maddy Maznaz assured.
