Uncle Ato denounces selfish, irresponsible politics
"Politics is about the welfare of the people and putting things in place to profit them," Uncle Ato has noted.
He said this decrying the popular form of politics where leaders' only concern appears to be enriching themselves at the expense of the people.
He emphasised he had no desire in such a form of governance.
The Gospel star spoke on No.1 FM, 105.3. Journey to Heaven drive-time host Taller Dee had observed Uncle Ato was in an attire commonly called a political suit, occasioning the conversation.
Uncle Ato noted he had been engaged in student politics before.
The Onyame Be Hwe Wo (God Will Take Care of You) singer recalled when, "from 1998 to 2002," on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) campus, Kumasi, Ashanti region, he served as a Students Representative Council (SRC) vice president.
"I began as a nonresident student rep before I became the general SRC vice president. I've done a bit of politics, " he said.
“It's all about the welfare of the people, and having them deeply at heart," the award-winning singer-songwriter emphasised.
