Disruption causes delay in passenger procession at Kotoka Int'l Airport
The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) has confirmed that on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Terminal 3 at Kotoka International Airport experienced a disruption between the hours of 7:51 PM and 8:51 PM.
A statement issued by the GACL management on July 17, 2024, explained that the disruption resulted in delays in passenger processing and airline turnaround times.
According to the statement, the root cause of the disruption was identified as a fibre optic system failure. This failure occurred due to ongoing excavation works by the Ghana Water Company Limited along the fibre path of Telecel Ghana Limited between Cantonments, Teshie, and Nungua.
Given this, GACL management apologized to the passengers affected by the downtime and assured them of its commitment to providing seamless facilitation through all GACL-operated airports
