E/R: Akwatia DVLA office commissioned for operation

The Akwatia Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office has been commissioned for operation in the Denkyembour district, Eastern region, to promote road safety by ensuring that drivers were licenced and vehicles were roadworthy. 

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony held at the forecourt of the new DVLA Akwatia office situated in Akyem Boadua, the DVLA Chief Executive, Julius Neequaye Kotey, emphasizsed that the project was in line with the reset agenda of President John Mahama.

He divulged that new car number plates will be introduced into the system which would not include the year of registration. He said this would be important for especially for drivers and car owners to note.

He emphasised the DVLA and its board's commitment commitment to delivering on their mandate to ensure that drivers were licenced and vehicles were roadworthy so as to promote road safety in the country. 

The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awate, in her address stated that the President Mahama government's focused on decentralising services to the doorstep of the people and ensuring that institutions were resourced to deliver on their mandates. 

The District Chief Executive for Denkyembour district, Umar Ahmid Tutu, expressed much appreciation to President John Mahama for completing the DVLA office for its operation for the people of Denkyembour district.
