Fisheries Minister thanks donors for supporting 41st Farmers Day Celebration
The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Madam Emilia Arthur, has expressed her gratitude to ADB, CCT, Yamaha, Beacon Hill, and Ranaan for their generous donations towards the 41st Farmers Day celebration.
The donations, which include a cash cheque of GHS200,000 from ADB, a motorbike, an outboard motor, and a generator set from Yamaha, fishing nets from CCT, fish feed and floating feed from Ranaan and Beacon Hill respectively, will support the celebration of farmers, particularly fishermen and fish farmers.
Receiving the donations, Minister Arthur emphasised the importance of the support, stating that it will serve as an impetus towards the celebration of farmers and strengthen the partnership between the Ministry and the donor institutions.
"The government is committed to supporting farmers to increase their yield whilst boosting aquaculture in the country," she said, adding that the 2026 budget has received a massive allocation for aquaculture development.
Madam Arthur also congratulated all fishermen and women for their hard work and commended them in advance for their contributions to the country's food security.
This year's Farmers Day Awards will be held in the Volta Region on Friday, December 5, 2025.
