President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, will undertake a three-day state visit to Ghana from Sunday, November 2, to Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
In a statement signed by Spokesperson to President John Mahama and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the visit, which underscores the strong and growing partnership between Ghana and Germany, will begin with an official welcome ceremony on Monday, November 3, at the Forecourt of the Jubilee House, where President Steinmeier will inspect a full military Guard of Honour.
President Steinmeier will then hold a closed-door meeting with his host, President Mahama, followed by bilateral talks between the two leaders and their respective delegations.
Discussions are expected to focus on deepening cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, technology, and development.
A state luncheon in honour of the visiting president and his delegation will be held at the Presidential Banquet Hall later in the afternoon.
As part of his itinerary, President Steinmeier will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where he will lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
He will later interact with young Ghanaian IT professionals before attending a reception at the German Ambassador’s Residence.
On Tuesday, the German President will travel to Kumasi, where he will perform a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute, and engage with the Vice Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, staff, and alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
President Steinmeier will also visit the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research, before paying a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
