Ghana Gas governing board engages managers of Karpower Ship

The governing board and selected management members of Ghana Gas Company Limited embarked on a one-day working visit to the Western Region.
The visit was part of the ongoing familiarisation engagement of the new board, led by Chairperson Kofi Totobi Quakyi, to gain firsthand knowledge of the company's operational and management processes.
The team first engaged with the workers of the Takoradi office, discussing key policy resets. They then paid a courtesy call on the President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Kobina Nketsiah (V), at his palace in Essikadu. The discussion centered on issues affecting the total well-being of the Western Region.
The board and entourage visited operational sites in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, where workers at the Takoradi Distribution Station (TDS) shared their frustrations about logistical and welfare constraints under the previous administration.
The team concluded the day's visit with extensive deliberations with the operators and managers of the KARPOWER SHIP. As the sole supplier of gas fuel to the 470-megawatt power ship, Ghana Gas currently supplies between 80 to 90 million standard cubic feet of gas daily to the world's largest power ship, which contributes 23% of the energy needs of the national grid.
The management of the KARPOWER SHIP commended Ghana National Gas Company's management and technical team for their efficiency and urgency in supplying reliable gas. CEO Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay assured the technical team of the power ship of a constant gas supply to ensure reliable electricity for the people of Ghana.
The board chairman and members are optimistic about turning the company's fortunes around by streamlining operations, focusing on core mandates, and improving the welfare of technical and non-technical staff.
