Health Minister moves to improve Oti Region's health challenges
Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh revealed during his two-day tour of the Oti Region that an assessment from a recent health sector retreat has placed the Oti Region at the bottom of national health facility performance rankings, raising serious concerns about the state of healthcare delivery in the area.
To address the situation, Mr. Akandoh has tasked his technical advisor to lead a team of stakeholders to assess conditions on the ground and propose practical solutions.
The audit findings are expected to shape targeted interventions to improve service delivery in the region.
The Minister emphasised the need for hands-on engagement, noting that effective solutions cannot be developed from Accra without firsthand knowledge of the challenges in the Oti Region.
The tour underscores the government’s renewed focus on strengthening the health care system and implementing free primary healthcare across the country.
