IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno vows to end police bribery in Ghana
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has issued a stern warning against bribery within the Ghana Police Service, declaring that anyone attempting to bribe a police officer will face public disgrace.
Speaking at a recent press briefing, IGP Yohuno emphasised the commitment of the police force to integrity and excellence. “You cannot bribe a policeman anymore.
Anyone who attempts it will be disgraced,” he stated.
The IGP further assured Ghanaians that the police service is determined to restore its reputation and uphold high standards. “We want to be one of the best police services in the world.
We are carrying an image that future generations will follow so that we regain our glory and make everybody in Ghana proud,” he added.
This move is part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana Police Service to strengthen accountability, transparency, and public trust. The IGP’s message comes at a time when the country seeks to reinforce law enforcement integrity and ensure that all citizens can rely on fair and professional policing.
