The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has commended the security services for their cooperation and professionalism in ensuring a transparent, dignified and corruption-free recruitment process.

Speaking during a visit to monitor the ongoing recruitment exercise, the Minister expressed satisfaction that the directive of President John Dramani Mahama to conduct security service recruitment in a decent and respectable manner is being fully realised.

“I’m really, really happy that the wish of His Excellency the President to see these things done in a very decent and respectable manner is being achieved,” the Minister stated.

Hon. Muntaka noted that applicants are being treated with respect and dignity throughout the process, with basic amenities such as water and snacks provided at recruitment centres.

She stressed that individuals who volunteer to serve the nation deserve humane treatment.

“People who volunteer to serve should not be seen as animals.

They should be treated with respect and dignity,” she emphasised.

Addressing concerns about irregularities, the Minister assured the public that identified anomalies are being promptly resolved.

She disclosed that strict measures have been introduced to minimise human interference and curb corruption, including the establishment of a dedicated email system for reporting fraud and other suspicious activities.

Hon. Muntaka appealed to applicants and parents to report any attempts at extortion or manipulation, assuring them that the recruitment process is fair and merit-based.

“Even if you don’t get selected, you’ll be satisfied that the process was fair,” she said.

She explained that the recruitment exercise includes an online aptitude test and medical examinations, with final selections determined strictly on merit.

The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to building a professional and credible security service through transparency and accountability.
