The donation included bags of sugar, gallons of cooking oil, cartons of tomato paste, bags of rice, milk and other essential food supplies.

The items are expected to be distributed to major prison facilities nationwide to support feeding, particularly for Muslim inmates observing the period of fasting.

The Minister expressed appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, for his continued support to the Prisons Service.

He stressed the importance of extending support to inmates during Ramadan, noting that the period represents reflection, sacrifice and spiritual renewal.

He also commended the resilience of persons in custody and reiterated the government’s commitment to improving their welfare and living conditions.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Service, the Deputy Director-General of Prisons in charge of Operations, Dr. Francis Omane Addo, expressed gratitude to the Minister for his continued advocacy and support.

He also thanked Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for his sustained assistance to the Service.
