Ghana’s Roads Minister Kwame Agbodza

Ghana’s Roads Minister Kwame Agbodza has revealed that efforts to protect and maintain the country's roads are being hampered by unauthorized activities and lack of enforcement, calling on stakeholders and Parliament to collaborate in safeguarding infrastructure and preventing further destruction of completed roads.

He pointed out that a significant portion of Ghana’s road infrastructure is under threat due to unauthorized activities and inadequate enforcement of regulations.

These issues have led to the widespread destruction of completed roads, undermining the government’s investments and efforts to improve connectivity across the country.

He called upon stakeholders, including Parliament, local authorities, and the general public, to work together to protect existing infrastructure.

The Minister stressed that without concerted action, the country risks further deterioration of its roads, which could hamper transportation and economic activities.

Furthermore, Minister Agbodza urged for stricter enforcement of laws governing road usage and maintenance.

He emphasized that safeguarding Ghana’s roads is a shared responsibility that requires coordinated efforts to prevent future damage and ensure the longevity of infrastructure projects.
