President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that work on the government's flagship Big Push road projects and other road infrastructure developments across the country is progressing steadily despite delays caused by the rainy season.

The president said persistent rainfall has slowed construction activities in some areas, but contractors remain committed to completing the projects within the agreed timelines.

President Mahama gave the assurance during an inspection of ongoing road projects from GNAT Junction to the Polycamp Hostel area and from Kafodzidzi Road to Aburansa Phase Two in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) Municipality of the Central Region.

He said road infrastructure remains a key priority of his administration, stressing that improving the country's road network is vital for economic growth, trade, agriculture, tourism and efficient transportation.

The president commended contractors for the progress made despite the challenging weather conditions and urged them to maintain quality standards while ensuring the projects are completed on schedule once conditions improve.

He noted that the Big Push initiative is intended to accelerate the construction and rehabilitation of major roads across the country to improve connectivity and support business and investment.

President Mahama expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects in the Central Region and reaffirmed the government's commitment to completing all roads currently under construction.

He also appealed to residents and motorists to exercise patience and cooperate with contractors while work continues, saying the temporary inconvenience would result in safer and more durable roads.
