Mahama to cut sod for 24-Hour Economy Market in Juapong
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to perform a sod-cutting ceremony for the 24-Hour Economy Market at Juapong in the Volta Region as part of his Resetting Ghana Tour.
The market project is one of the activities scheduled for the President’s two-day working visit to the region from Thursday, 16 July to Friday, 17 July 2026.
According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Volta Regional Secretariat, the initiative is aimed at promoting round-the-clock commercial activities, creating employment opportunities and supporting local economic growth.
The sod-cutting ceremony will take place on the first day of the tour, during which President Mahama will also inspect ongoing infrastructure projects and engage with stakeholders.
The visit forms part of the President’s nationwide Resetting Ghana Tour, which seeks to assess development projects, interact with citizens and receive feedback on government programmes.
