The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in Kasoa has stepped up its operations against illegal drug peddling, warning offenders to desist or face prosecution.

The Commission reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle illicit drug networks and clamp down on known hotspots within the Awutu Senya East Municipality.

Assistant Narcotics Control Officer, Mavis Edna Dotse, disclosed that NACOC is scaling up intelligence-led operations aimed at identifying and dismantling distribution networks operating in the area.

She made the remarks after the Commission received a motorbike donation from the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, to enhance mobility and enable swift response to actionable intelligence.

“We are committed to ensuring Kasoa is cleared of illegal drug peddling.

This support will strengthen our operations and help us intensify surveillance and enforcement,” Ms. Dotse stated.

For her part, MP Okunor pledged continued support to NACOC’s efforts, stressing that addressing drug-related challenges is crucial to protecting young people and maintaining peace and security in the municipality.

She assured close collaboration with NACOC and other security agencies to bring perpetrators to justice and strengthen preventive interventions.
