Seidu Agongo condemns alleged GNFS attack on CMG journalist, calls for probe, urges calm
Alhaji Seidu Agongo, founder of the Class Media Group (CMG), has strongly condemned the alleged assault on a CMG reporter, Samuel Addo, by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
“I express deep concern over the assault on one of our journalists,” he said.
Alhaji Agongo described the incident as deeply troubling, noting that it not only threatens press freedom and the safety of journalists but also undermines Ghana’s credibility and standing as a defender of media rights.
He stressed the need for the matter to be addressed promptly by the relevant authorities to ensure accountability.
He further called for calm as investigations into the incident proceed.

On behalf of the Class Media Group, I express deep concern over the assault on one of our journalists by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service. Such incidents not only threaten press freedom and the safety of journalists but also undermine Ghana’s credibility and standing as a champion of media rights. We urge the relevant authorities to conduct a swift and impartial investigation to establish the facts and ensure accountability. Our journalist was performing his lawful duties, and we expect full cooperation from all parties to safeguard media practitioners. We remain committed to promoting responsible journalism and call for calm as this matter is addressed.
