US Embassy in Accra closed temporarily for US Independence Day celebrations
The U.S. Embassy in Accra has announced revised operating hours to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence Day.
In a post on X, the embassy said it will close early at 2:30 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and remain closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the occasion.
The embassy advised the public to take note of the temporary closure when planning visits or seeking consular and other services.
Normal operations are expected to resume after the Independence Day observance.
