Volta Regional House of Chiefs decry inland barriers on Volta roads

The Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by its President, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House on Thursday, July 31, marking a significant moment of engagement between traditional leadership and the Presidency.
In a brief remark, Togbe Hodo IV decried the existence of inland immigration barriers on the Sogakope road.
The chiefs further congratulated President Mahama on his victory in the 2024 general elections and took the opportunity to present key concerns affecting the Volta Region.
These included issues of regional development, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
President Mahama expressed heartfelt gratitude for the region’s continued support, describing it as instrumental in his return to office.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and outlined a series of strategic interventions aimed at improving the quality of life for Ghanaians.
Key among these were plans to enhance quality education, restore macroeconomic stability, and implement critical infrastructure projects.
These include nationwide road rehabilitation works and the renovation of key markets—initiatives to be coordinated through the Office of the President.
