The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has entered into a strategic partnership with CAMFED Ghana through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at creating decent and sustainable job opportunities for marginalised girls and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) across the country.

The agreement marks a significant step in promoting inclusive development and gender equality in Ghana’s job creation efforts.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Mr. Malik Basintale, described the collaboration as timely and impactful, particularly in light of the increasing educational participation of girls.

“More females than males participated in the recent BECE—an encouraging shift from historical trends,” Mr. Basintale said. “CAMFED has brought numerous opportunities to the northern parts of Ghana and beyond.

This partnership reflects our shared vision to grow the country together by empowering its most vulnerable populations.”

The Executive Director of CAMFED Ghana, Ms. Fairuza Abdul-Rashid Safian, expressed optimism about the impact the partnership would have on women's economic empowerment.

“This collaboration will strengthen skills training programmes for women, increase access to sustainable livelihoods, and promote female participation in male-dominated industries,” she noted.

In addition to boosting employment, the partnership also seeks to promote child protection and safeguarding within youth-focused training programmes, while facilitating knowledge-sharing and best practices between the two organisations.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to creating inclusive opportunities and transforming the lives of disadvantaged youth through targeted interventions and capacity-building initiatives.
