Ahmed Suale murder: Police invite A-Plus to assist with investigation

The Ghana Police Service has reached out to Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, to assist in the ongoing investigation into the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Husein Suale.
This follows A-Plus's recent social media claims that he possesses information pertinent to the case.
In a Facebook live session on Saturday, 13 July 2024, A-Plus declared that he knew the identities of those responsible for Ahmed Suale's murder.
“I am always ready to justify my claim if called upon to do so,” he stated, signalling his willingness to cooperate with authorities.
Responding to his assertions, the police have officially contacted the independent parliamentary candidate for Gomoa Central.
In a statement, the Police underscored the role of the Cold Case Unit, established in October 2021 under the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, to tackle such cases.
The unit has been rigorously investigating the case while maintaining close communication with the deceased journalist’s family.
“The Police is therefore pleased that Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) has given indication that he has some information that could assist the ongoing investigation, and he has been invited accordingly,” the statement read.
