Bibiani: Teenager jailed 18 years for defiling 4-year-old girl, leaving her badly damaged
A Circuit Court at Bibiani in the Western North Region, on Thursday, August 13, 2020 sentenced a 16-year-old boy to 18 years in prison for defiling a four-year-old girl.
Jobless Kwaku Mensah, who lives at Dabiasem, a suburb of Dadieso, according to the victim’s father, Robert Akwasi Boakye, took the little girl hostage after she had delivered a quantity of corn to him (suspect) at his abode from her mother, upon request.
The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Benjamin Owusu Agyeman, told the court, presided over by His Honour Yaw Owoahene Acheampong that the incident happened on 5 July 2020.
He said the suspect used a crude and pointed metal object to cut the little girl’s nether parts open to ease his penetration.
The girl, whose vagina and anal orifices were left badly lacerated, was left for dead in a nearby bush by the suspect.
She was found lying in a pool of blood after five hours of the defilement and rushed to the Dadieso Hospital but later referred to Juaboso for treatment.
A medical report showed that the little girl hymen was badly broken with multiple bruises which have left the little girl’s vaginal and anal orifices in a messed up shape.
The father told Kwabena Prah Jr on Accra100.5FM’s Ghana Yensom on Friday, 14 August 2020 that his daughter goes through excruciating pain when she tries urinating or pooping as a result of the deep cuts and laceration.
The family has appealed to the public to come to their aid in taking care of the little victim’s medical expenses, since the situation has forced them to expend all the little money they have.
