Bono: Eight-month pregnant woman found dead on farm at Yawusukrom
Tragedy has struck the Yawusukrom community in the Dormaa West District, as a woman believed to be seven to eight months pregnant was found dead on her family’s farm on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The deceased, identified only as Haiga, aged 33, reportedly left home earlier that day to harvest okra from their new farm but never returned.
According to her husband, Elder Kumbur Bright, popularly known as Elder Bright, he returned home around 6:00 p.m. and inquired about his wife’s whereabouts from her younger sister, who said Haiga had not yet come back from the farm.
Sensing something was wrong, he quickly went in search of her.
Upon reaching the farm, Elder Bright was met with the shocking sight of his wife’s lifeless body.
He immediately called for help from relatives, and the incident was reported to the Nkrankwanta Police.
Police officers from the Nkrankwanta District reportedly arrived at the scene late that night, between 11:00 p.m. and midnight, and retrieved the body for further investigation.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the deceased may have been brutally attacked, with witnesses claiming she appeared to have been “slaughtered.”
Residents who accompanied the police to the scene were said to have broken down in tears upon seeing the gruesome sight.
The police have since launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of Madam Haiga.
