C/R: Mankessim man sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for defilement
The Circuit Court Two in Cape Coast has sentenced Eric Asamoah to 16 years imprisonment with hard labour for defilement.
The case, which was heard on November 6, 2025, was presided over by Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo.
The incident occurred on November 2, 2025, at Mankessim in the Central Region.
According to a statement from the police, the accused, Eric Asamoah, pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement.
He was subsequently convicted on his own plea and handed a 16-year jail term.
Asamoh has since been transferred to the Ankaful Prison to begin serving his sentence.
The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice for victims of sexual violence and commended the court for the swift handling of the case.
