CDS testifies in court over €2.37 million ambulance case
Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), appeared before the High Court to testify in the ongoing €2.37 million ambulance case.
The case involves businessman Richard Jakpa, who subpoenaed Major General Oppong-Peprah along with other top officials, including the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The court proceedings, presided over by Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, followed a case completion plan.
Mr Richard Jakpa is on trial alongside Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
The prosecution alleges that the two willfully caused financial loss to the Republic amounting to €2.37 million through the purchase of ambulances.
Both Jakpa and Dr. Forson have pleaded not guilty.
Both the prosecution and Dr. Forson, the first accused, have closed their cases.
Mr. Jakpa is now calling his witnesses to the stand.
