Ebo Noah remanded, ordered to undergo psychiatric assessment over doomsday flood prophecy
Ebo Noah, the man at the centre of a public scare over a doomsday prophecy predicting a worldwide flood, has been remanded into custody by the Adenta District Court and ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment.
The directive was issued at his first court appearance following his arrest on charges of false communication and causing fear and panic.
Born Evans Eshun but popularly known as Ebo Noah, the 28-year-old was arrested by the Special Cyber Vetting Team of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) on December 31, 2025.
The case drew widespread public attention after he publicly claimed that God had revealed to him an impending world-ending flood scheduled for December 25, 2025.
He further claimed to have built an “ark,” which he said would preserve humanity from the looming disaster. In several videos circulated on social media, Ebo Noah was seen showcasing a large boat under construction. Investigations later established that the vessels were fishing boats, which he had repurposed for his videos - they were not his, also.
According to the police, Ebo Noah stated during interrogation that he was merely creating content and did not intend to issue a serious warning about a catastrophic flood.
After the predicted event failed to occur, he reportedly changed his account, claiming that his prayers had averted or postponed the disaster.
On the day the flood was expected to strike, Ebo Noah was spotted on stage at rapper Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert in Accra, where he performed as one of the night’s entertainers. As was characteristic of his public appearances, he was dressed in sackcloth, while a digital screen behind him displayed visuals of a turbulent sea as he addressed the audience.
