Ghanaian arrested with cocaine in India
A Ghana national, 29, was nabbed with a narcotic substance worth Rs 90,000 (US$1,262.33) at Calangute in the early hours of Saturday.
Calangute police said during routine patrolling, they spotted accused outside a resort along the Calangute-Mapusa road.
Upon suspicion, police conducted a search and found nine grams of cocaine worth Rs 90,000 in the storage compartment of his two-wheeler.
Accused was then taken into custody and booked under the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The scooter has also been attached by the police.
“Goa police is committed towards zero tolerance of drugs. Our action against drugs and other illegalities will continue,” Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo said.
