Kintampo kidnapper busted in Yendi
The police has arrested one Mahamadu also known as “Fulani”, a herdsman who allegedly kidnapped a 10-year-old boy from Kintampo and demanded a ransom of GHS 20,000 before his release.
“Fulani” was arrested in Yendi, Northern Region.
A police report stated that on 6 January 2020 at Kintampo in the Bono East Region, “Fulani” took the boy along with some cattle belonging to the boy’s father to the grazing field for grazing.
They were expected to return later within that day. However, the suspect called the father of the boy on the phone to inform him that he has kidnapped his son and would release him only if the father paid a ransom of GHS20,000.
True to his demand, the suspect failed to return the boy and left the grazing field with him.
An investigation by the police led to the arrest of the suspect two days later on 8 January 2020 at Yendi.
The victim has been rescued to be reunited with his father.
