Koforidua High Court dismisses election petition against Annoh Dompreh, awards GH¢25,000 cost

The High Court in Koforidua in the Eastern Region has dismissed an Election Petition filed against the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh, affirming his victory in the 2024 general elections.
The case, which was presided over by His Lordship Krofa Addae, saw the court grant an application for dismissal filed by Gary Nimako Marfo, the New Patriotic Party's Director of Legal Affairs.
The petition sought to challenge the legitimacy of Annoh Dompreh’s election as MP, but after reviewing the arguments, the court found no merit in the claims and subsequently struck out the petition.
In addition, the court awarded GH¢25,000 in costs against the petitioner.
Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh, who currently serves as the Minority Chief Whip, was elected to represent the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the December 2024 polls.
The ruling brings finality to any legal contestation regarding his parliamentary seat.
This judgment is seen as a significant legal win for the NPP and reinforces the legitimacy of Annoh Dompreh's electoral mandate.
