Man arrested with pump action gun and cartridges at Akwatia in snap check

Police at Akwatia have arrested a man, Joshua Amenuku, for unlawful possession of ammunition during a snap check operation.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, when a patrol team stationed at the Akwatia Y-Junction intercepted the suspect and found a pack containing 15 live BB cartridges.
According to police, Mr. Amenuku was subsequently escorted to his residence at Akwatia, where a search of his room led to the discovery of one ADLER Tulpar pump action gun and an additional five BB live cartridges.
The suspect, however, produced a valid license covering the firearm.
Police say the case is still under investigation and further updates will be provided in due course.
