O/R: 8 teenage girls aged 13 to 17 arrested for stealing over GH¢20,000 in Nkwanta South

The Ghana Police Service in the Nkwanta South Municipality, Oti region, have arrested eight teenage girls for breaking into a home and stealing over GH¢20,000 in cash, and other valuable items.

The suspects, all students from schools in the municipality, are currently in police custody assisting investigation.

According to the girls, they were part of a gang that had been monitoring the victim for some time now, and broke in when he was not home during their school break time.

It is reported that one of the suspects, currently at large with their parents, has benefitted from the theft, receiving approximately GH¢2,000.

The police are urging the public to provide any information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.
