OSP arrests top former GRA, SML, PPA officials over suspected corruption in revenue assurance contracts

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested several high-ranking current and former officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), and the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) over suspected corruption and related offences tied to controversial revenue assurance contracts between GRA and SML.
Arrested and Detained:Three individuals are currently in custody after failing to meet bail conditions:
Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah – Former Commissioner-General of GRA
Dr. Isaac Crentsil – Former Commissioner of Customs, now General Manager at SML
Christian Tetteh Sottie – Former Technical Advisor at GRA, now Managing Director of SML
Arrested and Granted Bail:Several others have also been arrested and granted bail pending further investigations:
Evans Adusei – CEO of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd
Philip Mensah – Former Deputy Commissioner (Legal) at GRA, now Legal Consultant to SML
Kofi Nti – Former Commissioner-General of GRA
Joseph Kuruk and Faustina Adjorkor – Officials of the Public Procurement Authority
The OSP’s probe focuses on the legality and procurement procedures surrounding contracts awarded to SML, as well as the company’s claims of having delivered substantial revenue savings for the state.
The investigation follows growing public scrutiny of the contracts, with concerns raised over transparency, value for money, and possible breaches of procurement laws.
The OSP has pledged to follow due process and ensure accountability at all levels as the probe continues.
